Test your skill at identifying the brand and other details of the Engineer Boot, certain brands of mototcross boots, and others.  This section features information to identify most of the quality brand engineer boots.  There are a couple of construction methods that clearly identifies a Chippewa and Red Wing made engineer boot from all the other engineer boots.  Wesco's are also easy to identify.  The older, original Chippewas, can also be easily identified from the newer ones.  See where Sears was a major source of Engineer Boots during the 40's through the 70's.

See the new Engineer Boot History section.   A recent acquisition of a 1943 Chippewa catalog and a 1980's letter from Chippewa have shed some light on the origin of the classic engineer boot.  WESCO may also be an early manufacture of this style.  Does this style go back to the depression days or even farther?  Check it out.  A 1928 Chippewa catalog has been acquired.

Try the Engineer Boot Quiz.  How many can you answer?  Then go to the the Answers page where you will see the answers to the quiz and them try the complete description of the various brands of quality engineer boots, past and present on the Brand Trivia page.

There is also a trivia section on Full Bore Motocross boots.
